Seed treatment by granulation or coating is an efficient and eco-friendly method of protecting seeds and seedlings against diseases, fungi, insects and vermin. Silica from Evonik is a processing aid for both methods.
AEROSIL® fumed silica adjusts the rheology of the liquid coating, while SIPERNAT® specialty silica improves the flowability of coated seeds. Hydrophobic AEROSIL® and SIPERNAT® silica grades slow down the penetration of moisture to the grain. SIPERNAT® also enables manufacturers to produce coated pellets with a uniform particle size and the necessary stability for mechanical distribution in the field.
BREAK-THRU® products are available for conventional and microbe-based seed treatment formulations.

Under our portfolio for microbe-based seed treatment formulations we offer a convenient and patented solution that is a biocompatible, microplastic free carrier liquid with binder properties. We also offer biocompatible dispersants and sustainable surfactants that improve shelf-life and biological efficacy (significant acceleration of seed germination and efficacy of the microbe).
Our products facilitate the formulation of hybrid solutions (combination of microbes with conventional and/or micronutrients).
